Dr Childbirth is an educational publication, not a doctor or medical practice. Pregnancy, birth, infant care, postpartum health, and nutrition information can affect health decisions. A disclaimer or a list of sources does not establish medical accuracy.
Current review status
No medical reviewer roster has been established. Our current articles have not been medically reviewed. Publication attribution is not a clinician byline, and editorial updates or source checks must not be mistaken for medical review.
Requirements before claiming medical review
We will use “medically reviewed” only after a real, named professional with qualifications relevant to the topic has reviewed the specific article and approved it. The editor must verify their credentials against a professional register or other authoritative qualification record, retain evidence of their approval, and record the review date and exact content version. We do not invent credentials or affiliations.
A reviewer name alone cannot enable a review label. The site requires a separate verified reviewer profile, an approval record, and a matching content fingerprint. Changes to the title, summary, article body, FAQs, or sources invalidate that match until a new review is recorded. A valid review displays the reviewer and review date in the byline. These checks support honest labeling; software cannot verify that a real clinical review occurred.
Sources and unreviewed articles
Sources should directly support the claims beside which they are cited. For medical topics, the editorial standard is at least two relevant authoritative references where available, not two unrelated links. Existing content does not yet uniformly meet that standard and needs further source checking and qualified review. General wording is not a substitute for evidence. Unreviewed articles carry a visible disclosure and do not use reviewer structured data.
